Minerva Lake is a 45-acre lake located approximately 25 miles northwest of Manistique. Resting a quarter mile east of CR 437, the entrance road is short, steep, and narrow, but still capable of handling mid-sized vehicles. It is not suitable for RVs or trailers. There is only one small campsite located in a semi-open area bordered by hardwood trees and hemlocks. It is 40' X 30' and is good for one family with tents. Swimming at Minerva Lake is considered poor, however, fishing is considered good. Lakes species are predominately largemouth bass and yellow perch. There is an unimproved, sand base boat access located adjacent to the campsite. Camping permits are required and available through the Ranger District office, 906-341-5666. No primitive toilets, no drinking water. Gasoline, groceries, fishing supplies, boat rentals, and ice are available at Steuben, which is about five miles north on CR 437.
Directions from Manistique, MI: Travel US 2 west about 10 miles taking CR 437 north. Travel CR 437 about 18 miles to FR 2767. The lake is a quarter mile east of CR 437.
